The role of player commitment and stress on the organizational performance of Libyan football federation

Authors

Abstract

This study investigates into the intricate dynamics between player commitment, player stress, and organizational performance in the context of sports teams. Utilizing a robust methodological framework, the research examines how these variables interact and influence overall performance in sports organizations. The study's findings reveal a positive correlation between player commitment and organizational performance, underscoring the critical role of player engagement and dedication in achieving team objectives and organizational success. This aligns with existing literature emphasizing the impact of commitment on performance outcomes. Contrarily, the relationship between player stress and performance presents a more complex scenario. The research indicates a nuanced, albeit less significant, negative impact of stress on organizational performance, challenging traditional perspectives like the Yerkes-Dodson law. This suggests that while moderate stress can be motivating, excessive stress may lead to detrimental effects such as burnout and reduced performance. These insights bear significant implications for sports management, highlighting the necessity for strategies that foster player commitment and effectively manage stress. The study advocates for environments that support player well-being and align personal goals with team objectives, along with tailored stress management approaches. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing sports team dynamics and performance, offering valuable guidance for coaches, sports managers, and practitioners in optimizing both player well-being and organizational success.
